Sicilian Blood Orange Sorbet

Orange sorbet is a refreshing cold dessert similar to granita but different in preparation and consistency. It has been made since Roman times and is considered the ancestor of ice cream.

Ingredients for preparation:

- 600 g. Oranges

- 180 g. Sugar

- 230 ml. Water

Tools used:

Extract the juice from the oranges. Pour the water, sugar and zest of one orange with edible peel into a small saucepan, bring to the boil, stir until the sugar has dissolved and the orange-scented syrup is ready.

Pour the orange juice into a container, add the syrup and mix. Place the container with the lid in the freezer for 6 hours, taking care every now and then to break up the ice crystals that form with the prongs of a fork.

Our creamy and thirst-quenching orange sorbet is now ready.
